This beachside property was uniquely designed to suit the client’s lifestyle. The innovative build makes the most of a challenging landscape and is a testament to Madison Builders’ careful and intelligent approach to every project.

The location presented a challenge as the steep, sandy site required considerable earthworks before construction even began. By using a timber frame, Madison Builders was able to adapt external finishes to the difficult block and coastal location. Carpenters had to take extra care with the angular timber frame to ensure sharp lines and flawless joinery throughout. The modern design features impressive unbroken walls, which meant that extra care had to be taken in installing and weatherproofing the doors and windows due to the lack of eaves and overhangs.

The modern three-storey home needed to cater to the client’s two boats and a caravan. The kitchen features ample storage space and opulent lighting that adds a touch of elegance to the living area and stairwell. A monochromatic colour scheme flows between each space – with touches of grey in the kitchen island mirroring the beautiful tiling in the bathroom and polished concrete flooring in the living spaces. The airy open-plan design is an entertainers’ dream, and a spacious alfresco and luxurious pool complete the vision.

While undertaking this ambitious build, both the client and the company were aware of the environmental impact. Madison Builders paid close attention to air sealing, and a ventilated rainscreen was installed for added durability to weatherproofing and to make the home as energy efficient as possible.
