The General Store

The General Store first opened its doors in Osborne Park in 1994. Owned and operated by Jeremy and Anita Watkins, The General Store is very much a family business dedicated to supporting local furniture designers and manufacturers. The General Store is Perth’s finest supplier of jarrah and marri furniture, using only the highest-quality, locally-sourced timbers.

With a contemporary showroom in Hector Street, The General Store displays an impressive collection of quality furniture, lounges, and must-have homewares and lifestyle products to suit all tastes and styles. The company offers customers personalised service and style advice on design, current trends, and colour palettes to inspire and complement any home décor.

The General Store’s focus has always been on remaining locally-made in an increasingly mass-market industry. The company believes this is what sets it apart and makes it a leader in Western Australian furniture production and knowledge of locally-sourced timbers.

The General Store mixes the warmth of traditional products with an impressive collection of contemporary styles. Many of the furniture pieces are distinctive by the nature of their source, with timbers salvaged from some of Western Australia’s most iconic buildings, including The Dingo Flour Mill, St. Mary’s Cathedral, The Pavilions at the Claremont Showgrounds, and the Freshwater Bay Tea Rooms.

All furniture can be tailor-made to create the perfect piece for you. Items are crafted to suit each customer’s individual requirements in terms of dimensions, timbers, and designs. The General Store’s knowledgeable staff are always happy to advise customers on what would best suit their needs within the home.
