Tim Davies Landscaping Project 9

Drawing on Japanese landscapes, the featured project utilises Chinese elms, Japanese box hedge, bamboo, mondo grass, evergreen ash and waterlilies to create a lush scenery that responds to the home’s architecture, ultimately highlighting its elegant design. Intensive pruning styles were adopted for the mature trees. The effect is a contemporary take on traditional Japanese gardening techniques. Sub-surface drip-irrigation is used throughout the garden beds to reduce transpiration, ensuring the garden remains green and fresh-looking all year-round. Ponds in the front and rear of the Webb & Brown–Neaves built home create a feeling of peace and are positioned in a way that gives the impression that the house is floating. Constructed from bluestone pavers and featuring woodstone, the feature is a striking yet modest addition.

The Japanese theme is continued with the use of bamboo screen fencing and cedar screens. A concentric steel planter beautifully showcases the range of plantings, an eye-catching feature. The featured garden illustrates Tim Davies Landscaping’s ability to adapt classical design elements to create fresh and contemporary results that are both attractive and practical.
