Uniquely designed to suit the client’s family and lifestyle, this house by Mondo Exclusive Homes is a functional masterpiece that is designed to be low maintenance and able to withstand the test of time. Working closely with the clients, the designers at Mondo Exclusive Homes spent time creating beautiful, family-friendly spaces within the home that perfectly suited the client’s requirements and met their expectations. The facade faultlessly suits the modern-coastal style of the house with off-white James Hardie weatherboards cladding the upstairs portion of the house, and the lower half is covered with an acrylic texture coat. Acrashield was also applied to meet the low maintenance requirement as it improves surface washability and protects the house against dirt accumulation. A limecrete exposed aggregate path leads to the front decking, front door and a midland brick cultured stone column that creates an eye-catching feature. The cultured stone was expertly chosen to match the exterior and interior colour scheme, creating harmony between all aspects of the house.

The interior of the house uses white, grey, black and wooden tones, giving it its modern style. Timber flooring flows throughout the home and, along with other wooden elements such as furnishings, works to warm and soften the aesthetic of the design. The house encourages beautiful living and entertaining experiences with its shared spaces and multiple living areas. A feature of black battening around the gas fireplace draws the eye in the shared living/kitchen area and creates a synergy with the other black elements throughout the house. Furthermore, the battening, amalgamated with the grooved James Hardie cladding on some of the walls, creates textural interest and contrast with the smooth plaster walls. The kitchen boasts gleaming white Caesarstone benchtops and stylish, custom-made cabinetry with black handles, tapware and energy-efficient appliances. The shelves and base of the kitchen island are clad in a Polytech laminate that is oak in appearance, tying in seamlessly with the timber flooring. Large glass sliding doors and a service window lead out to an alfresco and outdoor kitchen area that is ideal for entertaining as it is closed off from the elements.

All of the dynamic, large bedrooms are accompanied by a walk-in wardrobe and en suite and were designed to accommodate the older children creating their own unique spaces. The master bedroom is full of modern style and largely retains the wood, black and grey colour scheme. The focal point of the room is the black four-poster bed and matching side tables that contrast against the otherwise soft aesthetic. Stylish gold lampshades also catch the eye and correlate with the gold highlights on the side tables and bed frame. The walk-in wardrobe contains an abundance of shelving and draws which, much like the kitchen, is covered in Polytech laminate to blend with the timber flooring.

The master en suite contains beige terrazzo tiles and a regency hexagon mosaic splashback behind the bathtub, both harmonising with the oak laminate on the floating basin and shelving. Black elements are also apparent here in the tapware, handles and towel rack.
