‘Opulence’ is a good place to begin describing this incredible home. Fully-automated and complete with a back-up gas generator, this home has been finished to levels that will make you never want to leave. Elaborate Design Homes Director, Bernie Cronyn, embarked on a journey with the homeowner to bring their vision into reality. With a Hamptons-style outcome in mind, interior designer Lynette Kohler wove her magic by combining finishes, textures and colours to create a relaxed, coastal space oozing luxury and comfort.

Luxury begins in the elegant mudroom foyer entrance. The marble flooring covers the ground level and upper floors but is softened with a graphite-stained oak staircase and oak infills in the main bedroom. The master en suite exudes lavishness with a steamer incorporated into the generous shower, tiled in penny round mosaics over a curved seat and ceiling. The minor bedrooms are also generously fitted with their own en suites, cleverly disguised as part of the built-in robes.

A gym has also been incorporated into the build with its own separate shower, but the feature that captures attention here is the custom-made sauna. All materials arrived raw and were handcrafted with meticulous care onsite by Elaborate Design Homes.

This home is an entertainer’s dream, with a kitchen that would humble a Michelin chef. Fitted with Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, custom-made rangehood and zip tap, all the cabinetry was finished in lacquer with black hammered granite sealed benchtops. The dining area offers a formal setting for hosting meals, finished with vaulted ceilings, Sub-Zero wine fridge, Fisher & Paykel drawer fridge and a buffet with a sink. The enclosed alfresco area offers a more laid-back entertainment space, complete with a pool and spa to relax in, a built-in wood-fired Forno, and a custom barbeque and rangehood. The French travertine wraps around the outside of the home before it transitions to an individually laid cobblestone driveway.
