For the featured conceptual project, the client wanted a contemporary home that combined industrial interiors with resort-inspired styling. In order to achieve a raw and unfinished aesthetic, the client also wanted to proudly display the original building materials that many homeowners typically try to conceal.

The home showcases plenty of natural timber finishes, which add warmth to the indoor environment, while contrasting pleasingly with the polished-concrete flooring and achromatic colour palette. The generous use of natural materials creates a resort-inspired atmosphere that’s reminiscent of the world’s most beautiful luxury hotels.

Built with affordable and conventional building materials, the home is both sustainable and energy efficient. The considered selection of these materials ensures a short construction time, without compromising on the quality of the build or design.

Solar panels were installed on the insulated skillion roof to achieve an R11+ thermal break. Acoustic- and thermal insulated perimeter walls, underfloor heating and ComfortPlus™ windows were also installed to reduce costs and minimise the home’s carbon footprint.
