Hues Of Distinction

Carpet Court is excited to announce its upcoming trend forecast for spring and summer. As the days grow longer and warmer, Carpet Court predicts that striking colours will take the spotlight as we move away from low-key neutral colour palettes. Coinciding with these predictions, Carpet Court is showcasing two new looks across its range – Pastel and Outback. Carpet Court’s style ambassador, Heather Nette King, says that these new looks are perfect for re-energising a tired interior. “The Pastel look is serene and uplifting”, King says, while the Outback look “is inspired by our magnificent landscape – it’s rugged and warm…”.

The Pastel look is characterised by dusty pinks, pale mauves and muted apricots, but introducing bold accents of mint, pale grey and blue will add a touch of contemporary. King recommends finding pieces with “clean, unfussy lines and soft furnishings in the gentler hues”, and contrast them with sharp lines and metallic highlights. The Pastel look is undoubtedly sophisticated, especially when one hero colour is complemented by a few accent colours.

The Outback look is a celebration of the Australian desert – rusty terracotta, ochre and wattle yellow create warmth, while olive green and charred black provide added depth. King says that these colours are well-matched with “raw, grainy timbers, rustic furniture and woven elements to create a look that feels cocooning and authentic.” Tactile materials such as natural timber, buttery leather, metal and unique ceramics complement the warm tones, and King recommends layering similar tones of the one colour to elevate this look.

Carpet Court is proud to showcase a range of floorings that suit these new and exciting looks. A well-chosen floor can be the unsung hero in a room, helping to set the mood and frame the space.
