A key design feature of the five linked, grotto-style pools, ‘Blue Lagoon’ was specifically chosen for its relaxing and cooling effect. The project required around 30 times more pool plaster than the average backyard swimming pool, and was successfully manufactured and supplied on schedule by Rainbow Quartz. Designed and built by Commercial Aquatics Australia, the 10,000m² resort-style pool was one of the most complex pool projects ever undertaken. In a testament to the pool’s superior design, it won the Commercial Pool over $250,000 and Innovative Pool or Spa categories at the 2017 Swimming Pool and Spa Association (SPASA) of Western Australia Awards of Excellence.
