A Bright Future
Ray Kershaw, the director and founder of Mondo Exclusive Homes, was the proud recipient of the Master Builders Association of Western Australia Ric New Medal for Excellence for 2018. Presented at the Apprentice of the Year Awards, this prestigious accolade celebrates people under 35 years of age who display innovation and creativity in their work, and achieve highly in the industry.
At the age of 25, Kershaw founded his company, diving bravely into the world of custom-designed homes. He also finds time to study a Bachelor of Commerce, sit on the State Administrative Tribunal, and investigate new building technologies to enhance his company. In 2009, Kershaw won the Ric New Rising Star Award, which recognises high achievers under 25 years old, and 2018 was the first year that a previous winner of this award was also given the Ric New Medal for Excellence. These awards take their names from the founder of Midland Brick, who was renowned for his entrepreneurial spirit and innovative thinking – qualities Kershaw also has in abundance. After the awards presentation, executive director of the Master Builders Association John Gelvias said that the judges felt the industry was in good hands given the calibre of work being produced by up-and-coming professionals.
Mondo Exclusive Homes specialises in custom homes, seeing projects through from conception to completion. Each build is personally supervised by Kershaw for a result that is on target, on time and within budget. The company understands that building a new home can be daunting, but through clear and efficient communication, ensures clients find the process as easy and enjoyable as possible. Because owners are the ones who know exactly what they want from their new dwelling, the experienced team at Mondo Exclusive Homes involves and informs their clients at every stage of the project.
