Makin Homes Project 2

This spectacular four-storey property exhibits smart design principles and quality materials that create a striking street presence. Built by Makin Homes and designed by Dolphin Design, the home takes full advantage of every inch of available space in the lot. The open-plan design includes raked ceilings to the main area, smart wiring throughout and large northern windows to soak in the surrounding views.

Although the project was challenging at times, Makin Homes managed to give this home a stunning cellar that takes up 712.7m² of 824m² block. A lift was installed for convenience, and a curved staircase allows access to all levels, while also making for a magnificent home feature.

To design the four-storey home while maintaining the required ridge height Makin Homes created the ground level 1m and the cellar 3.4m below road level. This meant that neighbouring properties had to be shored up during construction, but experienced builder Makin Homes was able to overcome the difficulties to deliver this four-storey masterpiece.

Lee Makin established Makin Homes in 2005, however, his passion for building started much earlier than that. Building approximately 15 homes a year, he has developed an eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality work that is unmatched in the industry.
