Designed by Mondo Exclusive Homes, this project encompasses modern design principles and stylish decorating. The company was asked to create a soft industrial interior and resort-style gardens to accommodate the clients’ active lifestyles. It was also important to ensure every area of the home was useable, with no dead space. Built in two parts, the front and rear of the residence are separate structures with manicured gardens in between. This unusual design means that every part of the home is utilised. The front of the home has clear park views, while the rear overlooks the courtyard garden and pool. Some of the property’s core features include American walnut cabinetry, a theatre room and a spacious alfresco area.

A large butler’s pantry, pendant lighting and polished concrete floors enhance the kitchen’s industrial vibe, while the connecting alfresco creates a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor areas of the home. The main bedroom comes complete with a contemporary en suite that captures the essence of luxurious living. A resort-style shower overlooks a private garden and the Hollywood-inspired mirror with lighting adds a splash of glamour to this beautiful and practical room. Energy-efficiency was another key feature that Mondo Exclusive Homes has integrated throughout the residence. Solar panels, cavity wall insulation, maximum ceiling and roof insulation and 4-star lighting fixtures all promote an environmentally-friendly lifestyle.

The garden is one of the most outstanding aspects of this project and perfectly meets the brief the clients stipulated. The plunge pool with water feature is the outdoor area’s focal point and is complemented by the surrounding hard and soft landscaping. Exposed aggregate concrete, travertine pavers and fully-reticulated composite decking creates a functional space for entertaining, while greenery planted around the property line softens the hardscaping with a touch of nature. There was a sewer easement down one side of the block that the company had to work around, but clever positioning of the main structures and landscaping meant that Mondo Exclusive Homes could still make use of the entire block.
