Ikal Kitchens Project 2
A RESPECTABLE REIMAGINING
Looking to reimagine their kitchen and laundry areas, the clients for this project turned to Ikal Kitchens for its expertise and professionalism in bespoke cabinetry. Even though the original kitchen was not short for storage space, Ikal Kitchens was able to alter the area in a way that elevated its presence.
Sectioned by foundations and an expansive kitchen island, this space provided the client with the luxury of choice when it comes to the storage and preparation of food. Using consistent colour and materials, Ikal Kitchens opted for DULUX ‘Natural White’ for the cabinetry and QSTONE benchtops in ‘Casa Bianco’.
Decorative handles on the cabinetry were provided by Architectural Design Hardware, ensuring that the highest of quality materials were used in the creation of this project.
Initially, the kitchen closed off at one end of the U-shaped kitchen bench, making entering and exiting of the area more restrictive and the kitchen could only be accessed via the dining room. Ikal Kitchens opened this area up by turning the extended benchtop into a kitchen island so that there are now two access points.
The Ikal Kitchens team faced certain challenges when tackling this project. The foundational pillars posed restrictions, with tight access in front of the fridge that is not ideal for a kitchen layout. However, thanks to the cleverness of the Ikal Kitchens team, the positions of the fridge and pantry were swapped to create more room.
With stunning installation by the stonemason, who was strapped with the arduous task of having the stone wrap snuggly around the pillows and cabinetry, the team was able to deliver a flawless finish.
Identical cabinetry continues from the kitchen into the laundry extension, presenting a sense of satisfying cohesion. The two pack lacquered shaker-style doors are specifically designed to fit a contemporary look. Seamless flow between the kitchen and laundry creates an ease of access when conducting chores around the house, with all appliances and storage at your fingertips.
While both spaces were built with cohesion in mind, the layout ensures that the spaces can also be separated physically and aesthetically. As seen by the change in flooring from wood to tile, and a door acting as a barrier, these spaces can be closed for moderate noise and activity control.
With a subtly, yet effectively, tiled splashback that transitions between the kitchen and laundry, this project by Ikal Kitchens did not slack on its attention to detail.
