Conceptualised by the company’s in-house designer, the home’s design epitomises the innovation and finesse expected from Averna Homes, and embodies the company’s ethos of consistently producing homes of unique character.

Averna Homes only undertakes a limited number of bespoke projects, so the team has the luxury of spending plenty of time refining their plans for every build throughout the design process. This ensures the company’s philosophy of avoiding repetition is upheld.

The well-considered design for this urban abode incorporates a multitude of unusual elements, which instantly command attention when entering the residence. The clever integration of a glass feature wall in the foyer transforms the adjoining garage into a showpiece, allowing complete visibility from inside the home. Likewise, the striking 20m lap pool is a prominent spectacle on display from the entryway.

The opulence established in the entryway is continued throughout the entirety of the property. By carefully maintaining consistency in design elements, Averna Homes achieved a sense of unity throughout the residence.

The decision to accent the home with repeated materials such as stone and timber provides continuity throughout the spaces, while the neutral colour palette further encourages a cohesive appearance.

Minimalist-inspired graphic shapes and spaces, mirrored surfaces, and space-saving passageways made possible through open-plan structuring, are all crucial design elements for the residence. These features required special attention due to the challenges of working with a narrow block.

The potential pitfalls of the compact abode were expertly avoided through carefully considered design; by incorporating structures and finishes that optically enlarged each space while minimising any aspects that could appear constricting, Averna Homes ensured the lavish impression established from the outset remains primary.

The combined materiality and structure creates a natural flow within the home, and lends an air of industrial design to the space. The overarching design is elevated by large-scale windows and the inclusion of alfresco sliding stacker doors, which encourage a light and spacious appearance.

The finishing touches, epitomised in the refined yet impactful landscaping, include a luxurious sunken fire pit and artfully potted evergreens. Lush plants are strategically positioned throughout interior and exterior spaces, with the selected pottery perfectly matching different elements within the home.
