3Stone Buildings Project 1

3Stone Buildings has created an affordable yet comfortable suite of 11 apartments that maximises the use of space to create open-plan living. Designed with a smart approach to energy efficiency, the project earned 7.3 stars of energy efficiency from the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS).

Designed by the director of the company, Adam Najafian, the apartments were greatly influenced by his degrees in both civil engineering and architecture. The expert team worked collaboratively and efficiently throughout the design process to include all the generous additions in the design stage rather than suffering added costs during the build.

Double-bricked, insulated walls and double-glazed windows allow the home to be at a comfortable temperature year-round, not requiring the use of an air conditioner in summer. Solar positioning was a major factor in the planning stages, while structural and fire resistance were also key components that were of great importance to complete a space that was budget-friendly, spacious and safe, achieving high energy efficiency through smart-thinking and avoiding additional costs.

A clever design focused on avoiding walkways and passages as much as possible to give a spacious vibe, despite the small space. By integrating hallways and smaller additional areas into the rooms themselves, 3Stone Buildings was able to create open-plan living spaces and airy bedrooms.

This sense of comfort and luxury extends throughout the build, with stone countertops, shadowlines over the cabinetry and thoughtful additions such as efficient, computerised hot water systems and light-filled north facing living areas. The project was designed in sections so it can be replicated in different lot portions, allowing future clients to achieve the same results without extensive consultancy costs.
