Your home is your sanctuary. It is a place where you need to feel comfortable. It needs to suit your lifestyle and reflect your personality, while remaining functional.

Using your ideas of how you want to live in your home, 4 Rooms can create an interior environment that is a perfect combination of style and functionality for everyday use.

As we move into the future, trends in housing are being influenced by an acceptance of eclectic styles merging with traditional design elements.

Influenced by our Asian neighbours, open alfresco-style entertaining has emerged, creating an extension of the interior kitchen.

The interior and exterior kitchen aspects of our open-plan living have meant that the kitchen is not just the kitchen – it becomes an area to gather with friends and family, entertain, read the paper, and use the iPad or computer. With this in mind, the colours and textures need to flow to the main living areas to create a seamless appearance.

The kitchen is also the strongest component in selling a property and remains the area with the largest budget. Given the importance in getting it right, professional advice is a must.

For the featured project, designed by Jane Fyfe of 4 Rooms, the clients’ brief was to create a space that felt seamless and elegant. Jane has had decades of experience working as a senior consultant, specialising in all aspects of interior design.

The kitchen features Corian benchtops in ‘Venaro White’, which with no joins, create a sleek, seamless appearance. Jane selected Bonlex cabinetry in Moleskin Gloss, with horizontal grain feature cabinetry by Laminex in ‘Seductive Limba’.

Odin Ceramic’s natural stone cross-cut silver travertine flooring further enhances the space’s elegant aesthetic, as does the feature tiling, also by Odin Ceramics, in Pietra grey marble.

All the products used throughout the home have natural movement and texture that marry design and functionality.
