WINDOW DRESSING

IT’S MORE THAN JUST A WINDOW

VIP Curtains & Blinds took an innovative approach to the window furnishings in this Mandurah home. After discussions with the client, listening to his conceptual ideas for the project, VIP Curtains & Blinds used those ideas to create the end product and achieve the overall solution.

The company utilised motorised roller blinds, using the latest Somfy touchscreen technology, incorporating the use of curtains, roller blinds, motorisation and pelmets in the one project.

The client wanted the bedrooms to have a softer appearance, while blocking light and heat. Curtains and sheer roller blinds with pelmets were used to achieve both results.

In downstairs living areas, the priority was good daytime visibility to allow the view to be enjoyed, while maintaining privacy. Motorised roller blinds enable ease of use, while the pelmets dress the windows and hide the roller blinds underneath.

VIP Curtains & Blinds selected energy-saving products, utilising lined curtains and sheer roller blinds, which act as insulators, working with the pelmets to help trap the heat. This increases the efficiency of the home’s air-conditioners and contributes to the overall heat reduction throughout the home.

The company promotes the use of energy-efficient products, including the Verosol SilverScreen, EnviroScreen and metallised blinds, helping to lower heating and cooling usage and costs.

VIP Curtains & Blinds provides all internal window treatments including blinds, curtains, shutters and Verosol products as well as Markilux awnings, external shutters, external roller blinds and louvres. Recently the company has also begun offering Ecosmart environmentally-friendly fireplaces. This adds to the varied list of products on offer including manchester, wallpaper, ottomans, bedheads and wall panels.

Originally established in 1989, Rod Kivell and his wife Tracy have maintained the family-owned and run company’s family ideals. They believe in a personal and individual approach to all projects, and pride themselves on staying at the forefront of the ever-changing window treatment industry.
