Coolico Blinds & Curtains is a family business that’s committed to making a difference to the lives of people locally and around the world. In 2015, Zlatko Kulenovic participated in “the biggest physical challenge of his life” with the Telethon Adventurers, a charity the Coolico family feels passionate about, and has proudly helped raise approximately $43,600.

Kulenovic and a small yet determined group of Telethon Adventurers began their climb to the summit of the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, which has an altitude of 5895m.

The group encouraged one another through intense sickness and exhaustion throughout the 6-day climb, and Kulenovic described reaching the peak as an incredible experience that he would recommend to anyone who wants to challenge themselves and truly put their mental and physical stamina to the test.

On the descent, the team stopped at Stella Point, which has an altitude of 5756m, and played the highest AFL exhibition game in history. The record was not recognised by the Guinness Book of Records because the official AFL goal posts were not used, but the team was not bothered because they had achieved everything they had originally set out to do.

By partaking in this achievement, Kulenovic gave financial support to the Tanzanian community and raised $110,000 to support the hardworking researchers at the Kids Cancer Institute.
